Learn the Method (Steps 4-6)
Step 4 - The Solution
At BBB, our focus is helping you change the narrative around music learning in your context. We equip you with the knowledge and tools to address misunderstandings, misconceptions, and misinformation so your work becomes easier, more rewarding, and more valued. As part of the Educate to Advocate approach, the aim is to upskill, update, or even dispute the beliefs that shape attitudes and decisions about music learning. These beliefs can be held by students, parents, non-music teachers, school leaders, finance managers, board members, policy makers, and those who influence timetables, careers guidance, and learning pathways.
Step 5 - The Plan
Once you understand your tools and your audience, it is time to build your plan. This involves deciding where, when, and how you will use your advocacy tools to create the greatest impact. Your plan should be straightforward, time efficient, and easy to put into action so you can consistently share accurate information and gradually shift thinking within your community.
Step 6 - The Measures
Advocacy is not like the movies. Big wins rarely arrive in a single dramatic moment. Instead, meaningful advocacy is measured through steady, incremental shifts in understanding. While films show a breakthrough event that suddenly changes a decision maker’s mind, real advocacy happens slowly, through ongoing conversations, small changes in attitudes, and growing recognition of the value of music learning. These subtle measures show that your advocacy is working and building long-term support.
