Learn the Method (Steps 7-10)

Step 7 - The Action

You have completed all your preparation, and now it is time to set everything in motion. Think of this process like learning a piece of music. You practise slowly, learn the structure and motifs, and understand the composer’s intentions. That is the preparation phase. Then comes the performance, where anything can happen, but your preparation helps you navigate the unexpected. Do not be afraid to step onto the stage and perform your plan. Things may go wrong, surprises will occur, and sometimes there will be magic. It does not need to be perfect, it only needs to be something you can learn from.

Step 8 - The Change

The life of a music teacher is busy and often frantic. Weeks can pass in a blur, making it easy to lose track of ongoing projects or shift from performance to performance without reflection. The BBB+ method is designed to work with this rhythm, using a mix of set-and-forget systems and creative work when you have the cognitive space. Even so, you need to check in regularly with your project to notice subtle shifts, ensure steady progress, and confirm that your advocacy continues to support and strengthen your role in the community.

Step 9 - The Review

We assess our students all the time, and now it is our turn. This review stage is an opportunity to look back and identify which tools helped move the dial. When it comes to perceptions and attitudes, you rarely achieve a complete win, so the focus is on progress. Use these steps to reflect on what changed, what worked, and how your advocacy has begun to shift understanding.

Step 10 - The Amplification

Once you are in the groove, it is time to build on your progress. The BBB+ method works every time, but your starting and ending points will evolve as your community’s understanding of music learning grows. After completing your first cycle, reviewing your progress, and refining your skills, the next step is to amplify your message. Message amplification can take many forms and helps you deepen recognition, extend your impact, and continue elevating the value of music learning in your community.
