Wanna be like... Performers Edition Digital Poster Series

“Wait, Loki played the trumpet?”
That’s how one of my quieter Year 9 students responded when they spotted Tom Hiddleston on the wall of our drama and music block. Suddenly, music didn’t seem so... distant. It felt personal.
We had just put up the Wanna Be Like… Performers Edition digital posters, a vibrant, high-impact set featuring 13 iconic performers who got their start with music. From Emma Stone’s love of singing to Ewan McGregor’s pipe band days, every poster shared a surprising link between music learning and stage success.
For our students, especially those drawn to acting, dance, or media, these posters connected the dots in a new way. They saw themselves not just as performers-in-training, but as whole people building confidence, expression, and presence, all through music.
Later that week, one of our theatre kids joined the vocal ensemble “just to give it a go.” Another finally picked up their trumpet again after term break. These moments weren’t accidents, they were quiet reminders that music isn’t separate from performance; it fuels it.
If you’re looking for a way to connect with creative students, spark conversations, or bring advocacy into your school culture, this series does it, beautifully, boldly, and without saying a word.
